Different ages and activities require different levels of supervision but for the
most part, more is better. The ratio recommended for children ages 7 to 8 is one counsellor

more campers. The staff is the best overall determination of a campers positive

Is it a co-ed camp?
Most
parents do not like the idea of both boys and girls spending a week together without the
supervision of any parent. Strict rules and precautions should be taken on this point as
children may tend not to use the freedom given to them in a right way. Also they may try
to experience and enjoy things which otherwise are not allowed by their parents .If you do
not want to send your child to a co-ed camp make sure that the camp specifies so as most
camps usually arrange co-ed camps.
Check details about separate hostels/rooms/tents for both different sexes. Also make sure
that there is a female camp instructor for the girls and a separate male instructor for
the boys.
Also provisions should be made for separate bathrooms for both sexes.
