Barrichello and Ralf warned
April 1st, 2001

Ferrari driver Rubens Barrichello and Williams' Ralf Schumacher have been warned by the FIA stewards after the pair collided for the second consecutive race at Sunday's Brazilian Grand Prix.

Barrichello, who had already clashed with Schumacher at the Malaysian Grand Prix two weeks ago, crashed into the back of the Williams at the beginning of the race, eliminating himself and forcing the German to come into the pits for repairs.

The race stewards, who had already fined Dutchman Jos Verstappen after the Arrows driver crashed into the back of race leader Juan Pablo Montaya, have warned the duo.

"Having heard the competitors' representatives and the drivers' explanations, the stewards decided that the matter was a racing incident," said an official statement.

"The Stewards expressed concern as to the driving standards of both drivers and warned them of their future conduct."

Both drivers had called for the sport's governing body to clarify rules on drivers changing lines, as neither accepted blame for the collision.
