Australia, Melbourne - March 02nd - 04th -

About the Australian GP
Melbourne will host its sixth Grand Prix at Albert Park this year, and once again Formula
One will kick off under the sunny skies and amongst the scenic surroundings of Albert
Park. The atmosphere isnt a patch on former Australian Grand Prix host Adelaide, but
drivers and teams are happy enough with the facilities and circuit. This year the race
will be keenly watched with the host of driver and team changes, including the anticipated
first race appearance by Juan-Pablo Montoya, who lines up for BMW-Williams. In 2000
Michael Schumacher started his Championship campaign off in style with a convincing
victory, while McLaren suffered an embarrassing double failure. The Woking squad will be
aiming to return to winning ways this year.
Set up
High wing levels for maximum downforce on the Albert Park track. Medium to soft suspension
settings are needed for stability over the bumpy approach to the corners, and teams will
also fit larger brake ducts so the discs and callipers are cooled effectively during the
traditionally long, hot event.
