France, Magny-Cours - June 29th - July 1st - 2001
About the French GP
Like Barcelona, teams use Magny-Cours for their testing purposes, meaning races are
usually lifeless. The circuit is a mixture of moderately challenging sweeping straights
and tight corners, which can come to life if it rains. However, last year the race was an
enthralling encounter, with David Coulthard enduring a bitter battle with Michael
Schumacher. The two clashed at the Adelaide hairpin, but mechanical problems for the
German ended the battle, enabling Coulthard to take the win.
Set up
Magny-Cours contains a blend of high speed sweeping corners and straights with some slow
sections meaning that cars require low to medium downforce settings.
