Monaco, Monte-Carlo - May 25th - 27th - 2001
About the Canadian GP
CART and NASCAR may rule North America, but Formula One is still very important to
millions of Canadians, who turn up to see local hero Jacques Villeneuve race on the
circuit named after his outstanding father. There are usually a high number of Ferrari
fans present, and the enthusiasm for the event in general is felt in the air. The circuit
itself has changed little over the years, apart from a range of cosmetic modifications
designed to improve safety. Weather is normally warm and sunny, but rain is not uncommon
either. Last year it was wet, with Michael Schumacher taking the win ahead of his
team-mate Rubens Barrichello.
Set up
Montreals overall high-speed qualities mean that low to medium downforce levels are
required in set-up.
