Europe, Nurburgring
(GER) - June 22nd - 24th - 2001
About the European GP
Germanys other race is now featuring as a regular race on the calendar,
and normally the event produces an interesting spectacle. Atmosphere pumps with
enthusiastic Schumacher-loving Germans shooting their fireworks and flying their flags,
and the weather, despite normally being unfavourable, fails to dampen their spirit. The
circuit is another modern safety layout that hardly reminds purists of the original,
legendary Nurburgring, but drivers seem to be happy with it. In the past few years the
event has been scene of some incident-filled races particularly the 1999 event when Johnny
Herbert ended up the unlikely winner after the top guns fell prey to difficult conditions.
Set up
Medium Downforce settings. The circuit contains a blend of fast straights and high speed
corners with a lot of understeer, meaning that soft front springs are required and a lot
of front wing.
