Great Britain, Silverstone - July 13th - 15th - 2001
About
the British GP
For millions of fans all over the world, news that Silverstone has retained the British
Grand Prix for the next 15 years is significant. The track, despite it being changed over
the years for safety reasons, remains a heady challenge for drivers with its excellent mix
of sweeping bends, straights, and complexes. Last year, following a date change to Easter,
the race was hit by a torrential downpour, turning nearby paddock carparks into mass
swamps. Fortunately for 2001 the event has been moved back to its traditional summer date,
which should allow for finer weather, and more favourable conditions for the loyal fans.
