Aundh includes the area of Aundh, Baner, Pune University
and Khadki. The area of Aundh grew phenomenally
earlier last decade with land prices very high.
Today, it is primarily a residential area with a
number of townships and housing colonies. Khadki,
one of old areas in Pune, has a number of defense
establishments and also has the Mumbai-Pune
Highway. The Baner Road leads to the Chatrapati
Sports City, Balewadi. Pashan Road, though inhabited
in a number of its stretches leads to Chandni Chowk
and NDA further on.
Connectivity:
The Khadki Bus-Stand in Khadki Bazaar is
very well connected to PCMC and Pune Station.
On the highway, a number of state and city
buses along with six-seaters and autos ply
up and down.
Commuting from areas like Ammunition Factory in
Khadki, one wouldn't find many autorickshaws here.
Aundh again till the areas of Parihar Chowk and
university is very well connected. Extreme Aundh
areas like Sanghvi and vicinity have buses up and
down but one ought to know the timings, as the services
are less frequent. Six-seaters and buses ply easily
to Ramnagar, Chandni Chowk and vicinity till NDA.
Cyber culture is pretty prevelant in the Aundh with
many cyber cafes. Khadki has a couple of them.

first one you see on Pashan road as not
many exist there.
Highlights:The area of Khadki has many
defense establishments like the Ammunition Factory,
The High Explosives factory, the Military Hospital
and few Army establishments. The Khadki Bazaar is
an old bazaar and is one of the biggest. The Pune
University with acres of sprawling campus which
includes IUCAA and many departments resides here
as well.
Must See's:The Pune University is certainly
the prime spot here. With its 400 acres campus heavily
planted, the university also has an added
repute of a clean and green campus in addition to
its qualitative education. The Panshet lake, though
not very big is almost a miniature bird sanctuary.
Many bird lovers hit this site early in the mornings.
The National Defense Academy (NDA), with it's clean
and huge campus in scenic surroundings is another
attraction. Garden Court, Ambrosia, Bajara Hills
are places to be if you are food freak and want
to spend some quality time with your beloved, not
to mention the candle light dinners! The lush green
fields with a marked absence, of the city humdrum
on your way to these spots is an icing on the cake!
