One of the fastest growing suburbs in Asia, Kothrud,
a township on Karve Road and Paud Road was virtually
inhabited a decade back. In the mid-90s with
the real estate boom, this area today primarily
is a residential area with shopping complexes,
restaurants and ever-building houses. Its population
comprises of Maharashtrians and student population.
Many of the residential complexes, today refuse
renting of flats to Students. Colleges like MIT
and Cummins College of Engineering for Women are
the prime educational institutes in this area.
Connectivity:
Travel from Karve Road and Paud Road with
Kothrud Bus-Stand and Kothrud Depot is fairly
easy with six-seaters and buses plying heavily
to Deccan Gymkhana and corporation.
Connecting buses are available there on. Buses from
places like Hadapsar to Kothrud and other parts
of Pune are also available.To cater to the huge
residing student population, STD/ISD booths are
innumerable with many cyber cafes coming up.

in Pune.
Many are not aware that Paud Road leads to Chandni
Chowk and there on to NDA and Pashan. Infinity Disco
and Pub is the only disco other than the ones in
the camp.
Must Sees: For Pool freaks, you can play
a few frames for cheap. Food definitely ought to
be tried out here from the tapris, which
offer from Chinese to Tandoori. The panoramic view
of the hills ahead from Paud Road as it curves through
Kothrud till Chandni Chowk is what many overlook
