This 55 year old historic site, earlier known as Capitol,
where the famous bomb blast case during the fight
for independence had taken place, got its current
name after the owner Mrs. Dina Darasukhia who fought and won a marathon litigation
which lasted 27 long years... it was her personal ‘victory’! Strategically
located opposite this theatre, are Badshah’s, Kayani and Yankee Doodle
so during the interval if you feel like a quick bite instead of the usual canteen
snacks, you can just hop across. Hosting 4-5 shows a day, their crowd varies
from students to families.Surrounded by Dolby Digital sound, good light and
an air cooling system to keep you cool while the stars set the screens ablaze...
all this and their being particular about the cleanliness and hygiene of their
toilets is available at a rate of Rs. 40 for the balcony and Rs. 30 for the
stalls.
The show timings being 12 pm, 3:15pm, 6:15pm and
9:15 pm, you could either book your tickets in advance
from 9:30 am-11:00 am or 1 hour before the showing
of the film. Don't panic if you're late - they do oblige
patrons of cinema! Worried about transport after the
night show? Don't be as there are plenty rickshaws
at that hour not to forget to mention that they have
ample parking space for cycles, scooters and cars too.
